brief introduction

1.1 Ingredient

Topfill® N90 is a kind of modified silica , an ultrafine silica powder material formed by rapid oxidation and condensation of SiO2 and Si gas and oxygen in the air under high temperature conditions, similar to gaseous silica.The ultrafine powder is modified by the advanced production equipment introduced from Germany.

Compounds consisting mainly of silica and silicon dioxide , about 92% of the total amount, the remaining ingredients are Al2O3、Fe2O3、MgO、CaO、NaO  ect ,about 4% of the total.

1.2 Micro structure


1.2.1 Particle structure

According to transmission scanning electron microscope analysis, Topfill N90 particle particles are amorphous spheroid particles with amorphous amorphous phase, and the surface is relatively smooth. The individual spheres are independent from each other, and no collective structure has been formed.The maximum diameter of the sphere is about 600nm.


1.2.2 size distribution


Analysis by nano - laser granulator, the particle size distribution of Topfill N90 is narrow and the average particle size is about 200nm, D10=141nm, D90=350nm.

1.2.3 Physical and chemical analysis

Topfill N90 has a large surface area and low structure.

According to the test, its nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (NSA) value was 19.48m2/g, and DBP oil absorption value was 0.83ml/100g.It can be seen that the particle surface of Topfill 90  is basically a smooth structure, and there is no collective structure formed between the particles.

Because there is no chemical or physical action between the structural elements, the collective structure will not be formed.Topfill N90 has a smaller mechanism unit and a lower surface energy than the agglomeration of particles such as white carbon black and carbon black that are bonded to each other.

Topfill N90 appearance for gray powder, melting point is 1610 ℃, the theoretical density of 2.60 g/cm3.


1.4 Summarize

Topfill N90 has the characteristics of small size, large specific surface area, high chemical purity and good dispersion.With its superior stability, dispersibility, thickening and thixotropy, it has been widely used in plastics, coatings, paper-making, and daily chemical industries.
